I can't believe my baby boy is already 4 1/2 years old and having his first sleep-over. His buddy Nathan spent the night in April. Those 2 had so much fun laughing and playing together. I finally tucked them in well after 10pm. As you can see they didn't look too tired...

Day Camping
This was going to be my induction into a full on sleeping in a tent, peeing in the bushes camping weekend. Somehow, I lucked out and we only had to "day camp" for about 8 hours. The weather turned cold. In the 40s and 50s and below freezing at night. Our born and raised Texas friend's, Kyle and Joni Brock, assured us that this was not the right weather to camp-out in in Texas. We hiked, biked, hid Easter eggs, cooked out and even, roasted marshmallows by the campfire, and I was snug in my cozy bed by 10pm. What a great day!
Car Toys
In January we traded in the Dodge Durango for a Toyota Sequoia. I know Ed's excited about the 4-wheel drive. Andrew likes to count how many cup holders it has. But the big thing is the wireless headsets on the DVD player. What a sweet ride these boys have. We held off and didn't try out the DVD until our first road trip for a "day-camping" outing with the Brocks on Easter weekend.
Hamilton's new friend!
Ride on!
I'm taking us back a couple months to catch up on the wonderful Spring we had this year in Texas. Due to all the rain we have green grass, lush trees, and MUCH cooler weather. It's been a nice change, because we know the 100 degree temps are coming. In April Zach learned to ride his bike without training wheels. Here he is at the park on one of his first 2 wheeling bike rides. Way to go Zach!

Wildlife
Since moving to Texas I have experienced many different animal sightings. This past week though, I've seen the most. A couple days ago I spotted an armadillo belly up on the side of the road. Then, pulled into my neighborhood to find a coyote staring me down. That animal was NOT scared of me at all. Thank goodness for sport utility vehicles! Next, I spotted a very large turtle crossing the road. It's shell was about as big as my steering wheel. Fortunately, the man in the car behind me got out to put the turtle back in the lake. It looked too big for this mama to hold. I finished my safari by (unfortunately) running over a frog as it hopped across the road one night. The boys are really getting an eye-full!
